Ma'rifatullah (Knowing God) - The Road to True Servitude
When a servant tries to recognize his Lord Makrifatullah or ma'rifatullah, he should try to understand what is implied in the verses of the Qur'an and the Sunnah of the Prophet SAW regarding Makrifatullah or ma'rifatullah.
Makrifatullah or ma'rifatullah can be done in a way. Besides, by paying attention to the processes that occur in the environment, every human being must admit that everything that happens in this world has been arranged. "And on earth there are signs (of God's power) for those who believe, and (also) in yourself. Makrifatullah or ma'rifatullah.
Knowledge to know God or what we know as Makrifatullah or ma'rifatullah, which will lead us to better know the attributes of God and the wisdom contained behind every event and action that appears on the face of this earth. When we have Makrifatullah or ma'rifatullah know Allah, then our whole soul will bow, fear, submit, and be at peace together with the enlightenment of the heart to the majesty of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala. Makrifatullah is the basic knowledge that we must have so that we can carry out the Sharia without burden. Because sharia is nothing but the practice and appreciation of the right to be bound and enlightened
Ma'rifatullah or "knowing God" is obligatory for everyone. Every human being should know his Creator. The source and mouth of all that exists. Being religious without knowing your Lord is like sailing without knowing where you are going. It's like wandering and don't know where you are now. It's like wandering in the world, not knowing who to look for. So knowing God is the first pillar of faith, which has a high position.
Before you establish prayer, fasting, zakat and hajj first confess. Shahadat, which means testimony, is the starting point of ma'rifatullah. But not everyone who testifies (shahadat) understands what he testifies to (di-shahadati)
